Let's say you like the environment, but you don't want to drive a Prius. You want to spend money on an eco car, but the Tesla Model S isn't your speed. Well, Mercedes has a solution for you.
The S500 Plug-In is Mercedes' third eco S-Class, after the S350 BlueTEC Hybrid and the S400 Hybrid. The new S500 gets a 3.0 liter turbo V6 and an 80 kilowatt electric motor to propel it through space and time.
Wait, I'm now being told it will only go over roads, not space or time. Sorry.
It gets to 60 in 5.5 seconds, can stay all electric for 19 miles, and should get amazing fuel mileage, though EPA numbers haven't been announced yet.
It's another Frankfurt debut that will go on sale sometime after Frankfurt, so next year.
