insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com ® For $12,995, Fini Is The Last Word In Fieros

Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe custom Fiero looks wilder than a rock star with two-days worth of bed head. Is its price however, too much of a walk on the wild side?

Harry Nilsson once sang that one is a lonely number, and that proved to be the case for yesterday’s claimed one of one in the U.S. nineteen ninety… that's right, one, Mazda Familia GTX. According to an overwhelming 76% of you, it’s going to remain lonely, that many having having given its price a Crack Pipe loss.

Despite being voted over-priced, yesterday’s Mazda was laudable for its seemingly factory fresh and original condition, a rare sight in a GTX. You know in what marque that seems even more rare today? That’s right, the Pontiac Fiero. And today we have the most balls to the wall outrageous Fiero custom that you’ve ever seen outside of a Peyote-high hallucination. Don't you judge me.

Described as the Fini Fiero, this chameleon painted custom started life as a 1987 Fiero. That’s just one year shy of the major suspension redesign, so while outlandish on the top side, it’s still running on the bouncy bits that, in back were taken from the Chevy Citation, and in the front harken back to the Opel Kadett of 1852.

For $12,995, Fini Is The Last Word In Fieros S

In ’87 the Fiero could be purchased with either the 98-horse Iron Puke, or the 140-pony Chevy 2.8-litre six. Neither of those was apparently good enough for the Fini however as it rocks a Northstar V8 late of a Caddy. It also sports an automatic transmission which is probably a good thing as it wold be hard to concentrate on shifting yourself when you’re preoccupied with the car’s audacious appearance, both inside and out.

Let’s start with the cockpit, which unlike most Fiero customs actually looks like somebody put some thought into the mods, and actual craftsmanship into the execution. Sure the basic Fiero IP is there, but it’s now wrapped in a leather hood that snakes down to the wide center tunnel. A Pioneer head unit and what looks to be a Grant steering wheel accessorize the space.

For $12,995, Fini Is The Last Word In Fieros S

On the outside, whoa doggies! The front of this car looks like something that might have come out of the British maker TVR’s barn back in the day and features… what are those, old Celica headlights? The sculpted sides lead to a rear that’s even more audacious than that of Kim Kardashian, and carries enough round red bauble lights to make followers feel like they're playing old school Coleco Football.

Large reverse extractor vents flare from each B-pillar, and chrome five-hole alloys are tucked under the tight-lipped wheel arches. The whole thing is painted in pearlescent paint that switches from purple to blue depending on how the light hits it.

For $12,995, Fini Is The Last Word In Fieros S

The seller notes that fifty grand and over 2000 man hours have gone into this cars creation - more than that for the Federal Governments Healthcare Reform website form the look of things. Of course you're almost never going to get your investment - either in time or blood sweat and tears - back upon selling any custom car.

As such, the price for this wild child of a Fiero is $12,995, and you need to say whether that's a deal or not. What do you think, is a Lincoln-shy of thirteen grand for the Fini financially sound? Or, does that price mean fini for the Fini?

insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com ® For $12,500, Home Is Where You Find It

Do you ever breakfast at the International House of Pancakes? If you do then today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe International House on Wheels would be the perfect ride in which to sleep off that carb-heavy morning meal. That is if its price proves totally rooty tooty and not just fresh ‘n fruity.

It’s undeniable that the siren’s song of BMW’s legendary 8-series draws many a weak-willed devotee to his or her financial doom. When the object of obsession comes with a stick and a seemingly low price, as did yesterday’s 1993 850Ci, that song turns to wail of want, as evidenced in this particular car's eventual 57% Nice Price win.

That result reminded me of Richard Matheson’s novel, What Dreams May Come. You may have seen the less than faithful film adaptation. In Matheson’s rumination on the afterlife, a dead man chooses to leave Heaven in order to seek out his wife in of all places, Hell. Demonstrating his enduring love for her, he chooses to stay there with her despite her being batshitcrazypants. That fate of damnation and lunacy were her penance for having committed suicide out of sadness for her husband’s passing.

I’m kind of thinking that owning that big beat up Bimmer would lead to a similar result so potential buyers should plan to dress accordingly. Of course, if you’re already on the road to Hell, you could do far worse than to ply it in this 1960 International B-series Camper Truck.

Described in the ad as both one-of-kind and all-original, this truck started as a cab and frame upon which was built a custom wedge-top camper body hand crafted by a boat builder. Said to have taken three years to complete, the camper addition is fiberglass over a frame of wood and aluminum and encloses a modest interior outfitted in mahogany and marine plywood.

For $12,500, Home Is Where You Find It S

That interior also offers what looks like a dining banquette that could convert to a bed, and a Beverly Hillbillies-style wood burning stove for cooking your vittles when the aforementioned IHOP can’t be found.

The truck beneath that is a pretty standard IH B-series, featuring the brand’s sturdy 266-CID V8 and a three-speed automatic. The ad claims that both of those work just fine. The cab is as simple as you could want but does feature some period appropriate accessories, including a floor-mounted A/C (?) unit to blow up your skirt, and a detachable spot lamp on the dash.

For $12,500, Home Is Where You Find It S

There is some weirdness underneath however, as the seller notes a free-wheeling axle has been added to the truck to help prevent turtling and to act as a locator for the spare. But the best part of this camper is what is hanging in the in the windows. Two words, my friends: Pork and Beans Curtains. Okay, that was more than two words, but any additional words you might want to add would very likely be, hells yeah!

This site explains that the builder of the camper used it on a trip along the Alaskan highway. He passed away in ‘70s, and the current owner acquired the truck in 2010 after it had been garaged for years. I guess he’s ready for this home away from home to find a new home and presently has it up for sale with an asking price of $12,500.

Considering the kitsch factor, the condition, and the obvious craftsmanship that went into this one of a kind classic camper, do you think that’s a fair price?

For $12,500, Homy, Don’t You Know Me?

The only time that Nissan attempted to sell a cab-over minivan in the U.S. they gained a rep for carbecuing and had to all be recalled. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe diesel Homy proves what a shame that was, but will this rare van’s price prove equally shameful?

It looks like for two grand, a couple of jugs of antifreeze, and maybe some molly, somebody could have a good time with yesterday’s 1993 Cadillac Allanté. That is of course if they paid full-asking, for which 65% of you gave an appreciative nod seeing as anything that’s not actually on fire seems to be worth at least that much.

Speaking of being on fire...

Back in the '80s, when Nissan was looking to cash in on the wave of resurgent Minivan sales in the U.S. which was ignited by Chrysler’s K-car based boxes, they followed Toyota’s lead and enlisted an existing JDM cabover van. While not a hot seller, the Nissan C22 did gain infamy for suffering engine fires which resulted in Nissan eventually buying them all back and never speaking of them again.

Nissan’s follow up was the far more traditional Quest, a larger front-driver co-designed and built with Ford and as dull as Mennonite soft core. It’s too bad the C22s turned into crispy critters because had they been more successful perhaps we would then received its bigger brother, the Homy.

For $12,500, Homy, Don’t You Know Me? S

The Homy wasn’t a Nissan at first, as it was originally a Prince model. No, not Purple Rain Prince. The Homy was in fact the first Nissan-Prince badged vehicle the company sold post Prince acquisition. This ’88 model is all Nissan however, and not only that but it’s about the coolest and most feature laden mini van you could find this side of an old VW Syncro.

Remarkably rocking what the seller claims is a solid Washington State title and registration, this Homy most likely found its way to the U.S. by way of Canada. The ad says that it’s “truly mint” and the pictures bear that out.

For $12,500, Homy, Don’t You Know Me? S

Offering up 4-wheel drive and an 84-horse 2,664-cc diesel four, the only thing this 43,000-mile van is missing is a third pedal to push all the right Jalop buttons. Instead it has a slusher and driving it you’d need to get used to rocking that with your left hand as the driver’s controls are inexplicably on the right side of the engine box.

That’s because this is a JDM truck and as such exhibits a number of cool features and quirks not usually par for the course here in the States, things like RHD, a hatch-mounted mirror, and power-operated curtains.

For $12,500, Homy, Don’t You Know Me? S

There’s also a set of swing-around captains chairs up front and if you’re really into swinging then you might appreciate that the rear benches fold out to become a bed, ensconced within the privacy of the aforementioned power curtains. That means you'd be free to engage in some Homy-sexual behavior no matter where you happened to be.

Other cool accouterments include dual HVAC, factory chrome wheels, and a keyless entry. Claimed garaged since new, this Abbey Road edition - and no, I have no clue what that adds to the Homy - is too cool for school. Of course dropping the kids off at school will be a hassle seeing as the single side slider is on the traffic side here. Dodge kids, Dodge! Camry, Camry, Camry! Oww, Smart Car!

For $12,500, Homy, Don’t You Know Me? S

Parts for this beast shouldn’t be a problem since a lot can be had over that new fangled Internet, leaving just title transfer and registration outside of Washington to be a potential contention.

Of course, should you be - like its current owner - adept at working the system, then that may not be a problem. In that case you’d only need to worry whether this Homy’s $12,500 asking price is too high.

What do you think, is $12,500 a fair price for this uber rare Homy away from home? Or, does that price make your interest go up in flames?

For $12,500, This Cutlass Is A Master-Gator insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com

insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com ® For $12,500, This Cutlass Is A Master-Gator

Donks are a special breed of car culture, favoring audacious style over function. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe gator-themed Cutlass is perfect example of this, but will its price put it between a croc and a hard place?

When it comes to both donks and a dude’s downstairs dangle, there's no question that size matters. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Derived from the slang term for a bootilicious lady’s back bumper, the donk culture arose out of Southern Hip Hop, which itself was a reaction to the East Coast/West Coast bias in the genre.

Mostly featuring American iron from the ‘80s and ‘90s, the objet d'art of the form is to fit insanely huge wheels under the car, making the whole thing look like some sort of urban swamp buggy.

Today’s Oldsmobile Cutlass takes the swamp theme a step further having been customized in the form of an alligator fetishist’s wet dream. The pics in the Craigslist ad aren’t all that great, and in fact a couple look like pics of pics snapped off a TV screen, what’s up with that?

For $12,500, This Cutlass Is A Master-Gator S

Further clouding the issue, the ad’s description doesn’t even extend to the car’s year nor whether or not any real gators were harmed in its creation.

But oh what a creation it is.

Resplendent in a scaled metallic green over gator belly colored five spoke high boys, this G-body looks to be an ’84-’88 edition. The most prominent feature, aside from the insanely phat wheels, is the alligator mascot - or perhaps that’s an anthropomorphic hood scoop - adorning the engine lid.

For $12,500, This Cutlass Is A Master-Gator S

There’s more reptile on the inside, as well as a slew of little TV screens, stereo components and more scaly textures. The gators in here are also chrome-plated for that final touch of WTF? No word on whether the sneaks in the passenger footwell come with, but you do get a cool old school Hurst shifter with the purchase.

Look, I know this car isn’t your cup of O.E., and to be honest it isn’t mine either. That doesn’t however make it tragic or uninteresting, and in fact when it comes to show donks, this one is pretty amazing. The alligator theme is not only weirdly wonderful, but it’s also balls-deep. You don’t typically see that level of commitment to theme in cars like this.

For $12,500, This Cutlass Is A Master-Gator S

So, today I’m asking you to step out of your comfort zone and consider for a minute the purchase of this gator-baitor, not for yourself but for someone how would totally respect such a show-stopping car- like maybe the world's biggest UofF fan. I then want you to consider whether that individual should pay the seller’s $12,500 asking price.

What do you think, is $12,500 a donkin’ good deal? Or, should that price make anyone say later gator?

For $12,500, This Jeep Goes Off The Reservation insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com

insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com ® For $12,500, This Jeep Goes Off The Reservation

Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Jeep is named for the proud people of the southeastern US - whose land many consider to have been stolen from them. It’ll be up to you to determine if this supercharged Cherokee’s price is also a steal.

While yesterday’s faux Firebird featured a traditional screaming chicken on its shaker hood, it was in fact the Thunderbird that took its name - and in early iterations its turquoise trim - from Native American legends and traditions. The Firebird legend arose half a globe away in the Greek mythology of the Phoenix. Fitting, don't you think?

While it was impressive, and that particular car represented the model’s rebirth from the brand’s ashes, its price wasn’t seen as myth-making, and the car fell in a 81% Crack Pipe loss.

Did you ever play cowboys and indians when you were a kid? I didn’t. In fact, my favorite Westerns are the revisionist fare like Little Big Man, Jeremiah Johnson, and Dances With Wolves.

There’s a lot of discussion going on these days over the use of Native American names for sports teams or products, some of them, like Washington’s Redskins, being considered egregiously offensive. Some have suggested that the time has come to change that team's name to something less controversial, like say the Washington Crackers, or maybe the Washington Gap Shoppers.

For $12,500, This Jeep Goes Off The Reservation S

Hopefully today’s 1999 Jeep Cherokee SUV will prove sufficiently awesome to not bring shame to its namesake tribe. Helping it to do so is the prime motivator under its highrise hood. There you will find the legendarily stout and reliable 4.0 inline six. That engine was good for 190-bhp from the factory, but here it likely pumps out a good bit more as it has an actual pump feeding it on the supply side.

Along with the supercharger, the 4.0 gets a bigger throttle body, an OBD2 monitor and water/methanol injection. There’s a bunch of new parts in there along with the blower - including a new radiator, water pump, starter and battery. And it all looks appreciably tidy.

For $12,500, This Jeep Goes Off The Reservation S

It all rides on a 4” lift that features Bilsteins at the corners, a 4.10 LSD in back, sway bar disconnects, and 31x10.5 tires which all should make this Jeep capable of some serious off roading. The best thing about it is, it won’t look douchie while doing it.

The gold paint looks good, especially with all the black trim. That includes a substantial roof rack and the requisite under body reinforcements. And if you don’t like the custom fabbed hood, the ad says that the factory one comes with the truck as well, you’d just have to drop the blower to use it.

For $12,500, This Jeep Goes Off The Reservation S

There’s 98,000 miles on the clock and the interior - at least in the pics - looks to have stood the test of both mileage and time. These weren’t the most ergonomically correct or well screwed together Jeeps in history, but this one doesn’t evidence any boogers at all.

The Cherokee name has become a venerated property for Jeep and while these trucks were the first uni-body Jeeps made, they acquitted themselves as Rubicon-worthy from the get go. This one is appealing not just for its Goldilocks Mama Bear presentation, but also that supercharged mill under its hood. And how nice is it that the builder actually went to trouble to enclose the blower? Are you listening Mr. 2JZ Bimmer selling man?

For $12,500, This Jeep Goes Off The Reservation S

The asking price for this cool Cherokee is $12,500 which would be an eyebrow raising sum for a stock truck, but in this one’s case you need to take into account its added power and overall condition, which are both pretty sweet.

What do you think about that price? Is that a good deal for so choice a Cherokee? Or, is this a Jeep that needs to be more cheap?

You decide!

insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com ® For $12,500, Who's Da’ Van?

Pro Street is the awesome racing class that verses you in NHRA rules and also lets you be cop bait too! Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Plymouth has gone Pro, but is its price still amateur?

Man, do you ALL only shop at the bulk stores or something? That’s the only explanation I can come up with for your 92% repudiation of yesterday’s 1982 Suzuki SJ410, its seven grand price, and its good things come in small packages mantra. Go big or go home I guess.

How much would you pay for an amateur? I mean seriously, whether sports teams, hookers, or hitmen, if you’re going to lay down your hard-earned, you really do want a certain level of professionalism for your money. Today’s 1985 Plymouth Voyager panel van is a Pro, as in Pro-Street, and it’ll be up to you to determine if its price and execution are worth the title, or if this yellow oddity is all amateur hour material.

You will perhaps remember the first generation Voyager as the boxiest and most capacious of the K-car derivatives that Chrysler foisted by the seemingly thousands back in the MTV days. Humorously, the seller calls this one a VOGAGER in his ad title. Isn't that a porn movie?

For $12,500, Who's Da’ Van? S

There’s not much of the K left in this minivan, and in fact the bits that are still Pentastar-based can pretty much be counted on one hand. While you've got a finger up your nose. It's also no longer transverse engine nor FWD. Instead, there's a big fat SBC up front, stroked out to 355-CID and probably mean as a snake. Getting busy with all that power is a cut-down Ford 9" out back. In the in in-between sits a THM400 to manage the torques and ponies.

If you're expecting this Van to still do soccer mom duty then you will be sorely disappointed, as it presently seats but two. If however your plans include skid marks not just in your tighty whities then this might do the trick nicely. The van body sits on a round section tube frame and is hunkered down on some huge meats in its massively tubbed backend.

For $12,500, Who's Da’ Van? S

Those fat tires, along with the narrowed axle and drinks like a fish V8 makes the street part of Pro-Street in the van's claimed title a bit of a joke, but get it in front of a Christmas tree and I'll bet its pilot will be the one left laughing. After all, it's a Chrysler minivan dragster.

Visually, there's no way this thing could pass for a stock crap hauler. The screaming yellow zonker paint job is the first big clue that this isn't an appropriate ride for the shy or introverted. There's also the speed clipped-on aero nose that gives the van the visage of an angry drunk. Dumbo ear truck mirrors and polished five spokes round out the extroverted exterior.

For $12,500, Who's Da’ Van? S

Whether Pro Street or just pro-speed, this Voyager has seen so many mods Kirk and Spock might just try and kill it just for good measure. Before they attempt to do so, they opportunity exists to buy it and potentially go Pro. Doing so will presently require $12,500, and it's now up to you to say whether that's a good deal for this unique van, or if that's just too big a con for something that's pro.
