Have you ever dated someone who was totally hot but very high maintenance? If you haven’t then today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe BMW 850Ci will show you what that’s like. You’ll just have to ask yourself, at what cost, crazy?

Porsches have their engines in the back, amiright? I mean real Porsches, not some sort of almost an Audi or - Heavens to Murgatroyd - an SUV. The question is, as long as it’s in the back, does a real Porsche need to have a real Porsche engine? Well in an RCH-narrow vote - 53% to 47% - it turns out that when that engine is an LS1 and has been professionally installed, it's not only real, it's really awesome.

Of course, if yesterday’s German-American hybrid left a bad taste of just plain wrong in your mouth, and you need something to cleanse the palette then how about an all original BMW that’s about as rare a sighting as is Bigfoot reading SQ (Sasquatch Quarterly) whilst sitting on the can?

Today’s 1993 BMW 850Ci is about that rare as its V12 is mated to a 6-speed stick. The E31 Bimmer was in fact the first production car ever to do that- mating twelve cylinders with half that number of cogs in its gearbox.

This one looks like it's gone 12 rounds, but I do give the seller props for not describing the car as a ‘rat rod’ owing to the faded paint, assorted dings, dents, encroachments by that ol’ demon rust, and an interior that looks more like S&M Rhino than leather.

Those lived in looks might just be your cup of tea if your goal is to project the image of a faded ‘80s sitcom star still clinging to the last vestiges of your former fame, and it also means that this visually vexed vixen is unlikely to get you car jacked for being mistaken as a person of wealth.

Little do the car jackers know that under the hood beats the mighty M70 with its 4,988-ccs and 296 horses ready to play. This isn't even just a rare modern iteration of the V12 configuration, but as we noted in last week's crazy 5.6-litre equipped E43 M5, it actually operates as conjoined six cylinders. Two BMW sixes in one car! Can I get a Booyah!?

You'll need them both because the big BMW coupe tips the scales at well over two tons. That also means that fuel economy - on premium - is like that old David Bowie album; Station to Station. What you get for that extraordinary thirst is power delivery that's smoother than 30-year old Scotch. Too bad on this one that's wrapped in a body that looks a little too much like skunky PBR.

Despite the car's physical presentation, the ad claims that mechanically it is sound. Recent maintenance noted include a brake flush, new center Guibo, control arm bushings and a pair of batteries. If that list saddens you because you enjoy pouring money into cars don't worry, there's plenty more to go wrong here.

When new the BMW E31 was one of the world's most complex automobiles. Add to that this model's 112,000 miles and you can be sure that both expected and unexpected shit's going to go down.

Still, when was the last time a running V12-powered super coupe could be had for under ten large? I mean, other than creaky old Jaguar XJSs that typically smell like an Englishman's damp trousers. Plus, over here the Jag could only be had with an auto.

No, it's unlikely that you ill find something spec'd like a Ferrari for old Civic money, and that's what makes this beast so interesting. You are obviously paying for the base and not the condition, and for that this dealer is expecting $6,750 in return. What's your take on that price for this big Bimmer? Is that a start of - eventually - a beautiful friendship? Or, is this 850Ci too scary at any price?

For $3,750, Um, Well, Yeah insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com

insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com ® For $3,750, Um, Well, Yeah

When you were a kid, did people ask you what you wanted to be when you grew up? Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Tercel - yeah, that’s a Tercel - knows what it wants to be, but does its price match its lofty aspirations?

It goes without say ing that the value of buying a low-milage car deceases if you should happen to -you know - add miles to it. Despite that fact, yesterday’s 1990 Rip Van Winkle Miata with only 240 miles on the clock took home a surprising 56% Nice Price win for its nine grand asking. This leads to the question, is there anything a Miata can’t do?

Short of buying one with a blown motor there’s really no way to get the look of BMW’s venerated M3 without also the stigma attached to its excellent performance. That is of course until now. This 1998 Toyota Tercel rolls Bavarian style and at first glance totally pulls off the disguise.

For $3,750, Um, Well, Yeah S

However, much like a home-fitted toupee, man-made double Ds, or Justin Bieber, the veneer of illusion is actually paper thin. This faux M3 may require a double take to discern its true origin, but it doesn’t take long to discover the folly of its being. Or perhaps that should be considered its genius.

I mean, starting with a fifth generation Tercel two-door you’ve already got a hint of Hofmeister kinking it up in the back window. Now add to that the twin kidneys, roundy headlights under glass, sill extenders, and a shopping trolley spoiler in the back and yeah, this bad boy’s got some hot Bimmer going one.

For $3,750, Um, Well, Yeah S

Underneath all that it appears to be stock Toyota Tercel and that means a 93-horse DOHC four displacing 1,497-ccs. Bolted next to that and driving the front wheels is a five speed stick geared for economy. In fact, if your numero uno performance statistic is gas mileage then this Tercel will blow any and every real M3 out of the water with its claimed 33 mpg around town.

With an exterior so extravagantly modified I’m sure you’d be disappointed if the interior were not likewise imbued with M3 style. Well, turn that frown upside down my friend because it’s a Roundel round up in here as well. Two tone seat covers on all four thrones let everyone know what this car's aspirations are, while a “MoMo” steering wheel and crazy textured pedal covers offer a tactile impression of what the real M3 must be. Also, there’s enough stereo in there to make slipping into it like getting slapped square in the face with a Crutchfield catalog.

For $3,750, Um, Well, Yeah S

While the seller claims to be open to trades of unique/interesting/cool vehicles, that’s not how we roll, preferring to deal in cold, hard - and imaginary - cash. As such, it’s the car’s $3,750 price tag that interests us here today.

What’s your take on this crazy mixed up Tercel wearing big boy M3 clothes and rocking a $3,750 price tag? Is that a deal to play let’s pretend? Or, is that price as wrong as the car?

For $1,750, This Corrado Is Your Tijuana Taxi insuranceinstantonline.blogspot.com

Corrado isn’t a Spanish word, but it does sound like cerrado, which in Spanish means closed. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe VW Corrado is in Spanish speaking Mexico, but will its price cerrado the deal?

El Florido is a small town on the eastern edge of Tijuana, just north of the Carretera Libre A Tecate. Today’s 1991 Volkswagen Corrado has perhaps plied that highway, as the small sporty Vee-dub was made to eat up miles.

For those of you unfamiliar, Tijuana is the largest municipality on the Baja Peninsula, and serves as both a business and industrial center, as well as a legendary draw as a tourist destination, just across the border from San Diego California.

It’s probably that fun town rep that is most prominent in peoples minds as Tijuana is a place were you can seemingly get anything you want, from high-end jewelry to great food to fireworks and the best bargains in social diseases you could want. I’ve been there many a time, and have always known when it’s time for a return visit when the burning sensation upon peeing dies down. Ah yes, good times.

I’m kidding of course, and do recommend making a run for the border should you be in San Diego with a few hours to kill. You can even just strut right on over and into town if you like.

Of course you might want to drive this 1991 Corrado back, as there are, on average, 300,000 people making the crossing on any given day, and it’s a lot better to sit in a VW's throne than hoof it when going through customs. And remember, never try and smuggle anything illicit across the border by sticking it up your butt, as that’s the first place they look.

Serving as the nominal replacement for the Scirocco, the Corrado never generated as much enthusiasm as did its predecessor. That’s despite the fact that the Corrado is arguably better looking than the second-generation wind car, and at least as good looking as the first.

The Corrado also came with two things the Scirocco never did, supercharged engines and eventually an available V6. This arrest me red ’91 has the V6, which as we all know is a really an inline engine that’s been scrunched up so that the bores somewhat overlap, requiring their being staggered as a result. That demands a complex single head for both banks of the 2.8-litre 179-bhp mill.

Here is where this car gets kind of funny. The ad says that this is a ’91, but it’s my understanding that the VR6 didn’t make an appearance in the Corrado until the 1992 model year. Adding to the shenanigans is the fact that the VR6 badge displayed in the ad is from a Jetta (Bora en México).

Other notable pluses and minuses to consider before heading to TJ are the HID headlamps, which do notably flank a grille-less nose. It also has curb-rashed alloys upon which have been fitted some of the skinniest rubber this side of a Hello Daddy brand condom. Supposedly the steering wheel comes off too, but I don’t know if that’s on purpose or not.

On the brighter side, the title is said to be clear so actually driving this Corrado out of Mexico will unlikely lead to you ending up in a five-star Mexican jail. The car also looks pretty good, but that could just be the Instagram’d pics and their quaint and exotic backdrop. It also has the most hilarious front plate which offers an eff-off to all things JDM. I’m still wiping the tears away for that one.

The seller wants $1,750 for the car and you know need to decide if it’s worth the pesos, or if you’d give it a pass... oh.
