This is The Opposite Locker - FarOut Fridays where we try and sort out the cool from the square when it comes to the automobiles of tomorrow (concept cars). This is a discussion system detailing how cool a car is, not how fast, fun, or frivolous it may be, but how well it looks in the cat's pajamas.
But, you may be asking, what makes a car cool, anyways?
The coolness of a concept car is as much about what the concept can spawn when the ideas and design theories reach the marketplace as it is about the car in its current state holding use in one of our current hypothetical lives.
Fly as Hell
- Cadillac Elmirage - Cadillac's new possible-flagship-pre-production-concept was met with thunderous applause from pretty much everybody. Cadillac has one thing with this concept vehicle that no other luxury automaker can match: style. Fly as Hell.
Lamborghini announced this car specifically for the selfish enthusiast, so much so, it's even in the name (as I am sure, you've heard more than once). If I am allowed to use the word "literally" for the following statement then I will: this car is literally bat-shit insane! The Egoista only has one seat, it employes a multitude of active aerodynamics, it takes dramatic styling from a fighter jet, and while its designed to destroy a track, I doubt any hypothetical owners would ever take it out of their garage. Some have attempted to defend this car's honor by stating that concept cars are supposed to be this crazy; however, I shall now employ the more solid reasoning that no concept cars should ever be this ugly. Whatever your view on the styling, I must now ask you this one decievingly complex question: is it cool?
