As far as we know, there are no Chinese supercars. We're not sure there are any true Chinese sports cars. In fact, Chinese cars have only recently become cars. BYD is getting ready to make their first supercar, and supposedly it will be all electric. That's a big jump.
Reports within Chinese media say that the new BYD electric supercar will be called the E9 and sprint from 0-to-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Other than that, details seem to be rather sparse. Expect the E9 to make an appearance at some auto show next year.
In addition, BYD is going to introduce a hybrid crossover that they'll reportedly be calling the Tang. Borrowing parts from other BYD cars, power output will supposedly be around 350 and it will get to 60 in 4.9 seconds.
It is kind of strange to have 0-to-60 times on cars that don't exist yet. Right? That's not just me, is it?
