Somehow, cars and trucks with insanely low mileage keep popping up, like they're spawned from the sky in Grand Theft Auto. Here's a great example, a 1958 Chevy Pickup with just 1.3 miles on it. And it just sold for $142,000.
This past weekend an auction in Nebraska was held for the vast stockpile of cars that were kept for decades by Lambrecht Chevrolet. It is one of the largest low mileage collections ever assembled.
In addition to the 1958 Chevy Cameo with 1.3 miles, there were a number of other amazingly low mileage cars on the block. A 1963 Chevy Impala with 11 miles went for $97,500, a 1978 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car with four miles went for $80,000, and another 1958 Chevy pickup, an Apache, went for $80,000.
I'm actually surprised that these didn't all sell for more moola. These are basically time capsules since they're practically brand new. Sure, it's a sin to not drive these cars, but now someone can enjoy a basically brand new 1958 pickup... as soon as they replace some obviously rusted or destroyed parts.
