A dealer presentation recently showed off Porsche's new models for 2014. Somebody in that presentation took pictures of it with a camera, which they probably shouldn't have done. And that means we have the first details on Porsche's newest, smallest crossover, the Porsche Macan. Read on for all that info.
According to these slides, the Porsche Macan will debut at the LA Auto Show, which we already knew. What we didn't know is what would be under the hood and what it would cost.
This presentation says that Porsche is equipping the Macan with two turbocharged engines, a 3.0 liter in the Macan S and a 3.6 liter in the Macan Turbo. They should both be V6s like the one in the latest Panamera, which puts out 420 horsepower. The 3.6-liter engine is the intriguing one. Porsche has nothing like it in their lineup right now, other than the engine in the base Cayenne, which is sourced from VW and Audi. Could that be the engine they put in their top Macan?
That also leaves room below the Macan S for a base Macan with less power.
Pricing is listed in the presentation as $52,000 for the Macan S while the Macan Turbo will start at $75,000. Both cars should have a seven speed PDK as standard.
The image in the presentation is not what the Macan will look like though, as it is a render from Autobild.
