Going on a trip with your girl, the whole family or a bunch of crazy friends? Campers come in different shapes and sizes and, as you might expect, the coolest ones are also the weirdest. Surely you can find one you'll love amongst these ten.

If not, you can still go for this baby!

10.) Ford's Push Button Station Wagon

The one and only problem with this wonderful automated 1958 Ford Wagon Camper is that it remained a prototype. James Bond has nothing on this:

9.) The Beetle Camper

I can't decide on who wants this more from the Jalopnik crew. Jason "Beetlejuice" Torchinsky, or Raphael "Duneslayer" Orlove.

8.) Anything Pinzgauer

Since the Jeep Forward Control camper doesn't really exist, the Pinzgauer is what you want and can mabye attain. No matter what sort of body you put on a Pinzgauer chassis, it will go anywhere...

7.) GMC Motorhome

Burnouts? Check. Lots of space? Check. Style? You bet! Was it the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle? Indeed it was, sir!

Also, great for land speed records:

6.) Saab Toppola

How to make a Saab cooler than it already is? With a Toppola of course, which is actually smarter than it looks.

According to Wikipedia:

Toppola is a brand of camper shell originally made for the Saab 99 combi coupé. By removing the hatch and putting on the Toppola a car could be converted to a campervan in about 15 to 30 minutes. It is also just as easy to lift the top off and reattach the hatch door and use the car without the Toppola. Even if the unit looks small, it features full standing height (2.0 m) and a 170 by 200 cm bed. It could be fitted with a complete kitchen and even a heater for use during winter. The total weight addition is about 115 kg, so the unit is very light.

The Toppola was first made for the Saab 99, but later also Saab 900, Saab 900 (NG), Saab 9000, Saab 9-3 and Ford Sierra and Scorpio.

5.) VW Doubleback

The most iconic camper van of them all must be the VW bus, no matter which generation. But forget Westfalia for a second, as the smartest VW bus is actually made in Britain...

4.) Earthroamer

They used to make funky motorhomes based on the Jeep Wrangler, but for now, Earthroamers are built on either a Ford F-550 or an F-650 chassis. Badass. The company also appears to be back in business.

3.) Dobbertin Surface Orbiter

This is the most impressive milk tanker I've ever seen. I mean, going through the Panama Canal with that? Balls of steel. Stainless steel.

2.) Terrawind

Easily the most comfortable amphibious vehicle out there. For a road trip across the US, this would be my choice.

1.) Unimog

This is the way to travel. Mercedes quality and portal axles. Name a continent, and it will do it.
