Welcome to Sunday Matinee, where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.
Alright, so I know this basically amounts to a marketing video for an old Mercedes, but it still provides some interesting insights about the initial small Mercedes. A lot of things about the car that we think of as boring and maybe a little bit old-fashioned are featured here, but hey, for the time they were pretty advanced.
And there's also a great cameo from the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16, one of the first of the hot European sedans that started popping up in the mid- to late- 1980s. It had only 185HP, but at the time that was a lot, and was enough to set records at the bowl at Nardo.
Also, there's some fantastic synth music.
