Under all the glitz of his gig hosting The Tonight Show, Jay Leno is just a car guy. He's also the luckiest car enthusiast in the world. Case in point: He's the first non-McLaren person to drive the McLaren P1. I'm not jealous. Nope.
In a recent visit to McLaren's Technology Centre, Leno, who isn't wearing any denim at all, gets to look at the P1's assembly line and talk to the men behind the project.
That's been done before.
What hasn't been done is an outsider driving it. That's what Leno gets to do on the Top Gear Test Track at Dunsfold Aerodrome. The P1 is my pick for greatest new supercar over the Porsche 918 (which Jay has also driven) and the LaFerrari, so I'm seething with jealousy.
Damn it Leno.
