If your car has been sitting for a while, it might smell a bit musty. So you open the windows and driver around a bit, get that stank out. But you don't need to go 148 MPH to do it.
Richard Bernhagen from St. Paul, MN, was caught traveling 148 MPH in a 55 zone in his Mustang. The reason? He hadn't driven it in a while and was "airing it out."
Yeah, that sort of speed isn't really necessary for airing out a car. Honestly, more than 20 MPH isn't necessary. Just need to get that air moving, you don't need to remove dead skin cells from your own body.
Bernhagen admitted to doing 135 MPH and also said that it was "stupid." Yup, that sounds about right.
