I'd say the new BMW M3 and M4 are shaping up rather nicely, what with their 424 horsepower twin turbo inline-six engines and honest to God manual transmissions. And now some German racing drivers say they're great, too!
BMW recently invited DTM drivers Timo Glock and Bruno Spengler to test out the M3 and M4 prototypes on the Nürburgring.
Both drivers praised the cars' turbo power, handling, responsiveness and driftability, and they offered some guidance to the BMW engineers who are still baking it into the best M-car it can possibly be.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that they both turn out well. The current M-cars are still fabulously fast, but it's safe to say that recent ones haven't been as raw and hardcore as their predecessors from decades past. The M brand could use a shot in the arm, and I hope these will be the ones to do it.
