Alan Wrobel knows winter driving. A pro trucker the last eight years, he's logged 810,000 accident-free miles across 45 states and Ontario. Nowadays, he covers Ohio, Michigan, Ontario, and Wisconsin for a beverage distributor. Since he's no stranger to snow and horrible driving conditions, we asked him to share some winter driving tips.
Some of it's obvious (i.e. slow the hell down), but some of it, like his personal guideline for signaling and changing lanes, as well as his breakdown of when road conditions are likely to be most dangerous, may be stuff you wouldn't normally think of.
In any case, it's all in the interest of you staying safe and shiny-side up.
