Spoiler alert: The 2014 BMW M3 and M4 are faster than the beloved E30 M3. But there's so much more to it than that!
Germany's AutoBild has the first video look we've seen of the new M cars, and they had the decency to put them on a track next one of our favorite cars, the original M3. With an estimated zero to 60 mph time of 4.3 seconds, the new Ms are 2.4 seconds faster in the same run than their big brother and are more than twice as powerful.
There's more to life than power and speed, though. The E30 M3 is one of the most rewarding and engaging cars I have ever driven. The new M cars have a lot to live up to; hopefully they won't disappoint, but so far I'm optimistic.
This video is pretty short, but it is in German. (Like Best Motoring, but different.) Can any German speakers here glean some interesting info out of it?
