A reader sent us this photo last night, claiming he and a buddy ran into Mississippi State center Dillon Day at a gas station near St. Louis. He thought it was curious a college football player was driving a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. We thought it was curious Dillon Day was spotted nearly five hours away from Memphis—where the real Dillon Day is, preparing for the Liberty Bowl with his Bulldogs teammates.
That's obviously not Day in the photo above; other than it's a large man with long blond hair, he doesn't bear much resemblance to the Mississippi State offensive lineman. Still, it's a large man wearing Bulldogs football gear. We shared the photo with a representative of the Mississippi State football program, and the representative said he had no idea who this man was. We showed it to a few other people familiar with MSU football; they'd never seen the guy before.
So who is this Lambo driver claiming to be a Mississippi State football player? Why would someone who can afford a $150,000 car tell people such a weird thing? Is this a bizarre viral marketing campaign for Lamborghini? For Mississippi State?

Update (11:15 a.m.): Suggestions on Twitter say it's this guy, who does indeed appear in an MSU football jersey on his Facebook. But he must not have been on the team very long if nobody in the program remembers him.
Update (11:32 a.m.): He responds!
@bobcarskadon @Deadspin they asked me if I was a pro football player. I told them no and that I used to play for State. THATS IT!
