Because of politics, American cars were largely absent from Polish roads after World War II. After the fall of communism in the late 80's, the flood gates of stuff available for import to Poland opened, and cars were the first things to be sent.
The cars came from everywhere: Italy, Japan, Germany, and as we'll see today, the United States. The high shipping fees were worth the expense as cars in the U.S. were cheap and in abundance. The random selection of makes and models most fascinating. One would think that fuel efficient, or reliable, or large status cars would be the most popular, but no.
