Here's the SSC Ultimate Aero. Yes, it is ugly, but did it beat the Bugatti Veyron, the mighty giant backed up by the whole Volkswagen empire? It sure did. It also has a successor called the Hennessey Venom GT which managed to do the same.
SSC has been promising a new car designed by Jason Castriota with a V8 producing 1,350 horsepower and 1,280 pound feet of torque, and equipped with some very fat rear tires to deal with all that, but we're still waiting to see it moving.
