As part of his continuing effort to encourage austerity among the clergy, Pope Francis showed up to his summer residence in nothing more than a Ford Focus. And it wasn't even the current generation.
HuffPo points out that Pope Benedict had a much more luxurious (and Germanic) taste in vehicles, opting for an X5 and a big Mercedes. Francis' last-gen Focus is something you'd see in an ordinary middle-class household in Europe, which conceivably brings the Pope closer to his constituents.
