This week, I went to the Moving Motor show at Goodwood. Before getting in I had a bit of a stroll around the car park for a few minutes whilst waiting for a friend. Normally walking round a car park is not the most exciting thing in the world but here it is an incredible experience.
It doesn't really matter what car culture you're into, I guarantee that there will be something that will stop you in your tracks. From classics like the racing Mini at the top of the page and Jaguar XK below to more modern desirables such as the Mk1 Golf GTi above and even a sizable selection of supercars. Yes, there are plenty of less interesting cars too, but you don't have to walk very far to find something fascinating.
Even while pulling into my space, I spotted a pearlescent white Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 just a few feet away from me. A little further on and amongst the 'normal' Ferrari's, I spotted an F430 Scuderia. There were 458s, a 550 and others but I'm trying to make this a fairly short post.
If you're more into cars with a bit of personalization, there were probably good examples of cars from most cultures in the one car park. From tough looking Supras and Skylines through nicely modified BMWs, VWs and Porsches plus modified classics, you could tell there were a lot of people who really loved their cars.
I could have probably stayed here for a good couple of hours just looking at people had travelled here in if it wasn't for one thing. Although the car park is probably better than most car shows, the Festival of Speed weekend is certainly not one of them. More to follow people.....
