Gathered here are the Oppositelock posts that people have put a good deal of effort into writing from the last 24 hours. Today it includes some cool jdm only Suzukis, a V8 BMW 2002, tips for Craigslist ads and more.

One of my good friends being the talented/lucky bastard he is, is currently doing an internship in design for Suzuki just outside of Tokyo. He's been sending me photos and Instagraming all the cars he's driving over there and I thought I'd show you all.

I’m going to try to find frequently “overlooked” general maintenance things and post about them. Mainly because I need something to do during downtime at work. My first reminder is to check your cabin air filter.

Maybe just not the way you'd expect it to be. See, it's a BMW 2002 body with a 4,9l V8 from a Mustang, pushing a healthy 250 horses, shoved into the engine bay. Given that the 2002 tii had 130 hp, this is quite an improvement over the original. The car is living somewhere in SoCal, so if you see it, give us a shout!

Picked up the Focus ST from the dealer today, never driven stick before (at least not outside an empty parking lot). Only stalled about six times, every time I was making a turn, plus I picked up the car during rush hour in Toronto, drove about 15 km (9~ miles) home in stop and go traffic. Coriolis also asked for some more advice on driving a stick; help him out here.

So a couple of months ago, I dug this moldy old toy out of the shed where I abandoned it a decade prior. I dont remember if it was me that wrecked it last, or a friend. In any case, it was still broken. After tearing it completely apart, I scrubbed it in the kitchen sink, did an inventory of what parts I needed to order, and what parts I just really wanted. Ordered everything, rebuilt the original (seized up) engine, and put it all back together.

Maybe during the mid 1970s to early 2000s. But less so recently, and certainly not during the good old days. For example, the dash boards and consoles in a Charger/Coronet/Satellite, Dart/Valiant, Challenger/Cuda and their performance/trim level variants were the same. Can you guess which one of these is the Dodge and which is the Plymouth? And is the Dodge interior out of a Charger or Coronet?

Cloud81918's post that mentioned that both his kids had Lotus related middle names got me thinking. How many folks here have utilized names from motorsports or cars with your kids? How did you convince your significant other? Both of my kids have racing related names. Here is how it happened.

We all have been there; browsing the classifieds on Craigslist. You see a car that sounds pretty good so you click it. And then, it all goes downhill. No pictures. A specs sheet copied and pasted from Edmunds. A one sentence blurb saying “Call so and so for a showing at 555-555-5555.” The ones that speak no english. What do you do? Hit the back button. Here are some tips to prevent that back button from being clicked.

Well you can't in my basement, but you can in yours. This isn't necessarily car-related, but still hopefully interesting. I am in the final stages of finishing my basement wet bar. So I figured I would post how I did it in case anyone else out there is looking to get crafty.

Street racing is bad, duh. However, excessive speeding or "spirited driving" is just as bad. Say what? Stay with me. I'll try to keep it short. We're all car guys in one way or another. I'm a car guy in a sense that I love racing and I love the idea of racing. I can honestly say I've never been involved in a street race. I can't say I've never been involved in a bit of reckless driving. (I once got pulled over for 65 in a 30 though it was midnight, the road was 3 lanes and completely empty and I was 17 years old).

As always, If I've missed something and you would like me to include it, let me know.
