As has been pointed out already, the Goodwood Festival of Speed can top many car shows before you even show them your ticket to get in. To make sure this was definitely the case, there was a Supercars Car Park right near the ticket gate for owners of more interesting cars to leave their prides and joys rather than mixing it with the more plebian cars. Here are 30-odd photos of them!

I want to share with you the scariest goddamn place known to man. In the middle of the Nevada desert, along highway 95 about halfway between Las Vegas and Reno, there is a small town called Tonopah. At the start of the 20th century the discovery of gold and silver in the area turned Tonopah into a boomtown, with an estimated population of over 50,000. Now, with the rich ore long gone and the mines long closed the population has dwindled to a mere 2,500 and the military's nearby Tonopah Test Range is the town's primary source of employment. Every August Best in the Desert's "Vegas to Reno" desert race parades through Tonopah, which is how I first discovered the Clown Motel.

My buddy J.J. races on CCC's spec Miata team, and sent me some words and photos after a crashy yet overall successful weekend at Summit Point Raceway: "This was an ITS race with other classes mixed. Miatas are so damn reliable and durable that it's unlikely that this would've went down in SM (spec miata). Basically, at the 4 board, I look up in the rear view to check on a faster class car coming up on me on the way into turn 1…"

Coming across this article ended up with a business idea to deal with owning a car in San Francisco. Basically, it would involve storing cars off-site for a cheaper price somewhere south of SF before the airport, compared to renting a parking space in SF, which is usually about $200-$300 a month. The price target would be somewhere around $100 a month. Read on, if anyone's interested.

This car came in two flavours. The injected big block and the fidgety piston eating mechanical management turbo big block. That’s my favourite. They fixed their problems with 20th century magic. That means the #102 could, today, be the most powerful road-course car ever at 1800hp.

I graduated from a trades school in June. I was asked to present a valedictorian speech, so here's what I came up with: "Hello, I am not an orator, so bear with me. The few of you who know me happen to know that one of my two passions is racing. I've always liked cars, but never really paid much attention to Formula 1 until a few years ago, but once I did, I delved into it's history, just as I do with anything else that interests me…

Perhaps you've seen Air Tractors working in the fields of the world as crop dusters. In fact, a lowly Air Tractor is featured as the protagonist in this summer's Pixar release Planes. The low speed capability and maneuverability make the Air Tractor an excellent platform for getting around the tight spaces of farmers' fields.

As always, If I've missed something and you would like me to include it, let me know.
