Gathered here are the Oppositelock posts that people have put a good deal of effort into writing from the last 24 hours. Today it includes a post on improving Formula 1, an array of Aston Martins and more.
I haven't done a legitimate review on features of my new baby (Focus ST) so I am forgoing lunch right now to bring you a quick update. Recaro partial leather seats. You all know them, I'm sure, and many of you love them. I have had a variety of passengers and some varied feedback so I figured I would give you a little input.

I've been wondering lately if I'm the only one with pervasive fantasies of taking a modern reasonably attainable sports car back to the 50's and 60's and just flipping the world upside down for all the hot rodders and Greasers from back then. You know, the guys with all the overhead lifters, four barrel quads, fuel injection cutoffs, chrome plated rods, dual-muffler twins, boosters, plates, and shocks.
O.k. I know the lawyers, the PR folks, and the safety groups would never let Volvo get away with this but it would be so cool.... (Scene 1- Kitchen at breakfast time) Mom: "Sorry honey, I have to work late, dad will pick you up from school and take you to practice." Boy (about 12 yrs old) "Awww mom, can't I take the bus? It's embarrassing when dad picks me up." Mom: "You shouldn't be embarrased because your father drives a Volvo." Boy: "I don't see why he can't drive like everyone else."
I've been thinking about Formula 1 lately... About how it's cool, but to be honest, is a bit of a let down. When I think of the technology, and the science involved, I can't help but think that Bernie Ecclestone lacks vision. Let me explain what I'm talking about.
Last week I asked Oppo for some advice on some cars/trucks I was looking at. Thanks again to those who gave advice. I also started looking at other vehicles, basically anything with a manual transmission. Here are the four vehicles I test drove and my impressions of each. I had never driven any of these car models before, some I was happy with some, others disappointed. Drove the first 3 yesterday and the last one today.
After reading o3subaruwagon's [Has the Supercar become less super?] post, and getting in a little bit of a heated discussion, it had me wondering. If there are so many people who think that the current, modern supercar is boring, then what do us auto enthusiasts have look forward to? What is it that makes us still like cars if, what is supposed to be the most exciting of cars, has become boring?
So after a day of work I went in search for some awesome cars in Northern Virginia, I didn't have to go far. In fact, it turns out Washington DC's Aston Martin outlet is really in Tyson's Corner. I was amazed at what I saw. The Vanquish and Vantage in Madagascar Orange are absolutely stunning. I meandered my way into the showroom and was graciously welcomed by Reagan Shawn, a young twenty-something with probably the best job in the world, he sells Aston Martins. After a nice chat I asked if I could take some pictures and he said to go ahead.
As always, If I've missed something and you would like me to include it, let me know.
