Live Coverage Promised For San Felipe 250 Desert Race Tomorrow S

The San Felipe 250 will pit trucks, bikes, and ATVs against each other and the desert tomorrow, kicking off a five-race championship off-road racing series.

Race organizer SCORE has promised that the CBS Sports Network will televise all five of their World Desert Championship series races. The catch is that CBS will only be giving each race one hour of coverage a month after the race has actually gone down. The slated time slot is 9:00PM EST on Sunday nights.

It's not huge, but it's a start to improving the exposure of off-road racing. CBS Sports Network is DirecTV Channel 221 and Dish Network Channel 158. I guess you've got plenty of time to order the channel if you really want to catch their coverage of the events.

If you don't want to wait that long, SCORE has once again setup a "UStream" broadcast that they say will bring you live action from the race. You can access is HERE.

As many of you probably remember, there were some technical difficulties streaming the Baja 1000 and a lot of us were left unsatisfied. It breaks my heart to say it, but they haven't won my confidence back yet— a lot of the links on their website are broken. But we're just going to have to let them keep trying, at least somebody's trying to deliver live off-road racing coverage.

If their live stream does fail, you can try the SCORE Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram pages action shots and updates.

Competition takes place tomorrow, March 1st. Motorcycles and ATVs start at 6:00AM local time (10:00AM EST), and trucks take off about three and a half hours later at 1:30PM EST. There's a minimum gap of three hours between the bike start and truck start. Bikes and ATVs have ten hours to complete the course, trucks get eleven and a half.

Official results will be posted at 9AM on Sunday, March 2.
