In 2005, Audi previewed the second-generation Audi TT in the form of a three-door hatch concept. Now Audi is showing off another three-door hatch concept on the eve of unveiling the third-generation 2015 Audi TT. See a trend here?

The 2005 concept was the Shooting Brake. It had the same headlights as the second-gen TT released in 2006. It had the same taillights. It had the same interior and the same detailing, from the sculpted side panels to the freestanding door mirrors. The Shooting Brake was the next TT, only with a different roof.

And so in 2013, Audi shows off another three-door hatch concept, this time a little taller, and this time without a name. We have ever reason to believe that it will have the same headlights, taillights, interior, and detailing as the upcoming third-generation TT.

Why? Well, history is one thing, setting a very clear precedent for how Audi does things. Beyond that we have spy shots of the 2015 Audi TT, and they seem to match up with this concept front to back. You can see some good ones over on Road and Track right here. The front lights and grill match up perfectly between this unnamed crossover concept and the spy shots, for instance.

So we have every indication that this concept is the next Audi TT, only with some plastic body cladding, a higher ride height, and a more practical roof instead of a saucy coupe.
