Realizing that their average customer was 112 years old, Toyota in the early 2000s launched the Scion brand to lure in young buyers and get them hooked nice and early. Like a crack dealer at a middle school.

But as John Davis notes in this classic MotorWeek segment, while the original xA and xB were quirky, boxy hatchbacks, they went the coupe route with the 2005 Scion tC. It was bigger than the other two and packed "a lot" more power — a whopping 160 horsepower coupled to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

For some reason, Mr. Davis seems to think it's "quite the roadrunner" with a 7.6 second zero to 60 mph time. At the same time, it has a comfortable ride with a youthful, well-appointed interior. Plus, you can fit a weedeater in the back hatch. It's all like ka-kow!

MotorWeek Theater is our showcase of some of our favorite classic reviews from public television's finest motoring program. How does this video only have 6,292 views on YouTube? OH MY GOD I NEED THAT!
