If you thought South American soccer (or football, to the layperson) commentary was the best sports could get, then you haven't listened to the Japanese.


Saturday's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Super Speedway, and like most races at Talladega, it ended with a simply gigantic accident.


Our own commentators were excited about it, but it just couldn't compare to the reaction from our friends in Japan, people who didn't have any drivers in the race or skin in the game. But that doesn't matter, because their enthusiasm for the sport, even when a crash is occurring, is infectious.


(Update: Guess what? As commenter Mike Griffith points out, this is the audio from a drift video overlaid on the NASCAR final lap. Still incredibly fitting.)


And this isn't the only time they've been like this. In the 2012 Indy 500, Japanese native Takuma Sato was going for the win and made a last ditch effort to pass for the lead on the final lap. He crashed. The Japanese reaction is legendary.
